After exploring friction in two different investigations, the students were given 2 challenges: 1) have your car travel off the ramp and across a surface the farthest distance and 2) car travels off the ramp and across a surface the shortest distance. They had to design their own ramps and evaluate the different surfaces available and how much friction they would create. They also began connecting that the height of the ramp would affect speed and distance. The farthest distance was 638cm and the shortest was 0.5cm. We had so much fun applying learning using the Speedometry kits!
